February was full of love and spectacular performances!
Love was in the air at the Del Mar Horsepark last month! Trainer Ashley Donadt of Donadt Dressage had a heart-warming time with kids and trainers at the exhibitors party hosted by Emerald Equestrian Center. Donadt and her lesson program brought out the glitter to create loving Valentines cards to show appreciation for the sport of dressage, but most importantly, love for their horses! Once the cards were dry, they made their way to the stalls to hang near the horses and decorate the barn aisle.
Ready, Set, World Cup! Congratulations to Geñay Vaughn and her horse Gino on a spectacular performance at the HITS Del Mar Dressage Opener. This dynamic duo made a trip down south to visit the wonderful Horsepark and what a great trip it was for them! With two amazing rides in the CDI-W, Geñay and Gino earned a place to represent the USA at the World Cup Finals this April in Switzerland.
Aside from the rain, many of the equestrians at the Horsepark had a wonderful time at the Del Mar Dressage Opener. With improved footing and Indoor arena, the show certainly went on leaving many happy with great rides and happy horses!
Last and certainly not the least, the month came to an end with the USEF Dressage Training Series. Young riders gathered to the west coast to learn and train at the Del Mar Horsepark.
For Young Rider Emme Chisholm, this was a great opportunity to grow the relationship with one of her new horses named Lincom’s Lord Heros CL aka “Harry”. Chisholm recently found this KWPN 8 year old on a trip to the Netherlands while visiting a friend. From the moment she sat on his back, she knew she found her next dance partner!
“I am lucky enough to have him home with me” said Emme with excitement! “I look forward to developing him up the levels! Thank you HITS Del Mar Horsepark for allowing me to expose Harry to the clinic environment at your beautiful facility!”
February was a short month, but full of fun and laughter at the Del Mar Horsepark! The Friends of Del Mar Horsepark look forward to sharing many more memories with you in months to come. See you next month!
