Now at the helm for this exciting season, Zulia will work alongside Show Office Manager Retha Sternberg and Technical Coordinator Jesse Yumang, who are also new to the HITS Del Mar team.

Alexandra Zulia has been named Horse Show Manager for the HITS USEF Hunter/Jumper Horse Shows at HITS Del Mar Horsepark in Del Mar, California

Retha Sternberg will serve as the Show Office Manager at HITS Del Mar

Jesse Yumang has been appointed to the HITS Del Mar team as the Technical Coordinator
Zulia brings a wealth of experience to HITS, having most recently served as the Horse Show Manager for Blenheim EquiSports, where she has worked for the past eight years. With Blenheim EquiSports, Zulia has spearheaded the production of premier hunter, jumper, and equitation events in San Juan Capistrano, California, Del Mar, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada. Prior to that, Zulia was also the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the extremely successful Horse Shows by the Bay Equestrian Festival in Traverse City, Michigan, which she eventually sold. In addition to her horse show involvement at the managerial level, Zulia has served as a Technical Coordinator, USEF Jumper Judge, Ringmaster, Paddock Master, and Horse Show Announcer, gaining a unique insight and acute awareness of all facets of horse show production.
Originally from Maryland, Zulia was the quintessential barn rat, riding in the prolific lesson program at Meadowbrook Stables and later competing on the University of Maryland's IHSA team, where she also studied Animal Sciences. Shortly after, she began her foray into horse show circuit operations, in which she has participated for more than 25 years. Beyond her work, Zulia is an enthusiastic amateur rider and horse owner with an appreciation for everyone involved in the show world from exhibitors to staff.
"We are delighted to welcome Alexandra, Retha, and Jesse to the HITS family," said HITS Chief Executive Officer Peter Englehart. "Under Alexandra's leadership, we are looking forward to continuing to build on the unique and special atmosphere the HITS Del Mar exhibitors love and expect. It has always been our goal to produce events everyone can enjoy, and with the expertise of our new additions, we are even better equipped to maximize the HITS experience in Del Mar."
"I am so excited to be part of a team that values the same principles as I do, which aligns exactly with the core mission statement of HITS — 'creating exceptional experiences for horses and people who love them,'" shared Zulia. "I applaud HITS for their commitment to investing in their venues to create the ultimate customer experience, prioritizing horse welfare, comfort, and safety — all ideals that are super important to me as well. I look forward to reuniting with my colleagues and peers on the West Coast."
